About Street Voices
Street Voices is a nonprofit organization that runs an empowering media platform, two streams of skill-building workshops, and an online directory that connects users to essential services.
When Street Voices first began in 2012, it was a pamphlet of poetry collected by homeless youth, for homeless youth. In 2014, it developed into a magazine that would go on to host up to three events a year. Come 2017, the magazine transitioned from a print publication to an online platform, intent on releasing more frequent content and branching into new genres of creative expression.
After years of continuous growth and hard-earned success, Street Voices was able to launch a service-based directory in 2021 that grows each day. Our hope for the near future is to expand our reach, empowering marginalized voices across Canada, and eventually, the world.
